I DID IT!!!!!!!!

Once again the Ice Princess took to the ice, bearing a little [ain and not doing anything too exciting I took to the Ice at St Albans temporary Ice rink, and it was lovely although a little scary with everyone falling all around me and having to dodge them, Nathaniel had a good go and even managed some time by himself.

So, now I just need to keep the pain at bay and try to muster up some enthusiasm to do some excersise and loose the 20lb I have gained since moving to the UK

Happy new year when it arrives

Eat, drink, be Merry???

So how many of you ate, how many of you drank and how many of you were merry.

We certainly had a mixture in our household this Christmas, and I tried to be all 3. But now I feel a tad "over-done"

So what detox are you doing, cause I need to be on it for a month,

Starting tomorrow I will be trying to go for a run every morning and go at least a mile and build up (see how I go) tomorrow I get my ice skates back on .......

I need to look at least a stone so need to get to work on that now not on tuesday, i feel huge and expanded but it could just be bloating.......

so.............................................................................good luck to you all for the challenge over the next week

so.......................................

who ate too much?? Who drank too much?? who had a fight?? who got a present they didn't like

I am sure all of us had about one of these things happen to us but hopefully it didn't hamper the day, despite the fact I didn't think I ate too much I still feel perfectly full (although I am still dreaming of sage and onion stuffing - my favourite)

Presents, food, drink and family galore, we had a lovely day and still managed to go to sleep at a reasonable time, mainly as we are in the travelodge and it is a bit boring to sit in the dark while we wait for Nathaniel to fall asleep and I actually think I dosed off before him as he was waiting on Simon going to sleep. Hence they are both still asleep and it is gone 8.30 am and I am typing this sitting on the toilet (with the lid down BTW) so I don't disturb them, being in a travelodge is a weird way to spend Christmas but allows us to be near my parents these holidays and were extremely inexpensive too,

So onto Boxing day, Simon doesn't want to eat again and Nathaniel is very impressed with santa although he has no clue who gave him what and he thanked me for his etcha sketch - although I reassured him "santa" bought it

Enjoy the sales if you dare to go out!!

Merry Christmas to all..

and to all a good night,

Christmas is here and we managed to track santa via internet on noradsanta website.

He has been to London so we are hoping he has managed to find my parents house and sort us out with a few presents.

Have an amazing day and try not to eat or drink too much....

Merry Christmas

and this year.....

Entering the big top is.......................................................

Yesterday we went to the circus, it has been a long time since I have been and Simon and Nathaniel have never been so we were excited to visit, I remember the cold tents in the muddly fields, and having to climb up rows of metal benches to reach your seats but once up there there was the perfect view of the Elephants, Lions, Clowns, and other entertainer..

So.....the big hiking boots were un necessary, the tend was place behind a garden center and you walked through the garden center to get to the path all marked with nice soft straw, this also gave the garden center a good marketing opportunity to get you buying last minute things.

As you walk toward the tent you smell the most amazing smell.....hotdogs and pop corn, I could have eaten them but knew I better not ask as we had just had a delicious (no really it was) lunch. We found our ringside seats and due to my sneakiness was able to grab enough and screw up the people also sitting down about the same time (you snooze you loose). We were in the second row and Natey was very excited to see tyhe clown and maybe the lady on the trapses, well we saw all that and Santa claus and a very scantily clad (Simon wasnt objecting) Mrs Clause doing some very exciting stunts, and the strong man is now in a "bart simpson costume" to make it a little more interesting and also so they can have picture opportunities at the end.

Nateys favourite was the flying man - he really felt he could have tried that and made a good job of it, I however did not want to volunteer my son for the rollerskating trick and I am glad I didnt it looked frightening. It was just about 1 hr in length and definately fun and frightening to watch at times

A lovely afternoon of entertainment - at 25 pound for all our tickets a little pricey but definately worth it.... I still wont join the circus although Natey might, I would go again.

That "little Black Dress"

Who just dreads shopping for that "little black dress" every year, I woant to look stunning on Christmas day and at Christmas Parties so I put the most into shopping, but year after year, I find myself walking round in a daze, unable to find anything interesting, you want to look and stunning when you enter a room because if any of you know me by the end of the evening, my outfit is the least of my worries (sadly)

For me Christmas is a magical time so I feel privileged to spend it with my whole family this year, and by celebrating my parents 40th Anniversary it will just end the year well as it has not rated on the "good" stakes.

So what will I be wearing, well, who knows with less than 48 hrs to go before I leave home I guess it will be something from my wardrobe. It wont be my birthday suit or my M and S Undies,

So from Nathaniel, Simon and I we just want to wish you a very merry Christmas and hug each other very tight and say goodbye to 2007.

A brand new day

Oh dear, this day could have been a day of waking up to chaos, after the kids party yesterday, Yes, the house was trashed but "clean trash" toys etc are easily tidied and were all sorted before bed (nearly)

School is getting missed today as Nathaniel is so tired and I feel he needs a break so we intent (when he wakes) to lounge around eating breakfast and watching ice age....

Simon worked hard last night delivering some items to his friends so he definately deserves a night in with his family and some mulled wine and a hearty dinner.

Watching "the Nativity Story" on TV last night was a thought provoking moment for me as I really enjoyed it and once again was reminding of the harrowing time Mary and Joseph had before Jesus arrived into the world. Sometimes we just need to take a step back from all the christmas festivities to actually remember why we are doing all this stuff...........................

now...off for a cup of tea

Party Day

Today is PARTY DAY, Nathaniel has his school party and we have a Kids Christmas Party this afternoon, despite a few kids being struck down with bugs and flu's it will still hopefully go off well, and I have enough sausage rolls for the whole town, however will we manage not to eat all the Chocolate Krispies before everyone arrives.

Only a few days left till Christmas and all I feel at the moment is tired, well in the mornings I am ok but by 2 I am tired and that is not just because of all the eating and meals we have planned, just the darkness really makes it hard to believe it is daytime................................................

Jacky is coming to visit today with Daniel, I love catching up with her and miss the time when we could just pop round for a natter or a cry, or a lunch at Marvin's Garden.....ahhh...reminicing.

News from the Toon yesterday was that the Vicar - aka dad, is doing so well after his home weekend visit that they are going to send him home for good on Christmas eve.

Thats all for now except my snot has gone from green to clear, so I guess I am now infection clear......................................

sigh!!

Well, the morning didnt get off to a great start, I was sick, didnt feel too well yesterday either and Nathaniel has been complaining of a sore tummy so maybe it was something brewing.......

No time to rest though 7 days till christmas and still plenty to do, i have to go to the grocery store today and get some snacks for the kids party tomorrow and i have pre organised some arts and crafts (even if they are a bit crap), I am hoping that once the 1st hits everything can go in a slightly slower pace. I think if it warmed up I could move at a faster pace...it is 8.10 and need to get Nathaniel ready for school, maybe more later...

A fresh Start

Well, with my other website unavailable for me to blog (due to technical difficulties) I have enrolled here as i miss my blogging, I guess It gives me a chance to talk to myself.

So here we are with 9 days left till Christmas - wow, am I finished - or have I started, I think I am doing OK and just Simon to get, (I think)

We just returned from my parents house after celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary (not Golden as Neil said during the speech!). It went well, I got too drunk but now that isnt a surprise (I admit shamefully). Dad was amazing as he ventured home first time and I hope he really enjoyed his time, not too many challenges that we couldnt over come and it was so lovely to see him relaxed and happy celebrating with mum.

So onto christmas and the new year ahead.

Thats all for today nando's is calling
